Just picked this up from Harbor Freight for $30 and noticed it has an "output" on the side that is an RCA output. What is this used for? Can you hook this into a laptop's line in and then record sound levels while test tones are playing?

The manual that came with it actually mentions hooking it up to home theater equipment but that is all that it says. Pretty vague.

Yep - line out. I've used it with the line in on a computer to do low-frequency sweeps in my room.

I think I have one of those ( in fact I have most thing's from the Radio Shack catalogue, especialy the 80's and early/mid 90's stuff )

How accurate are these?

Depends on what use them for. I think they're pretty accurate if you're using white noise to test SPL (broad-band). But, if you want to use them to measure specific frequencies, they're not linear, so you need to use correction.

I've played around with REW a little for sub calibration, which has a correction for the Radio Shack meters and some others.

It's been low on my priority list, but eventually I want to try to EQ my subs and I'll use REW and the Radio Shack meter to measure the room response.
