Barry, or others,
The Barco has these thin tin pieces that mount between the pj frame and the lens. What is there function, and can I remove them so your plates mount flush to the pj frame?
It will bring the lenses 1 or 2 mils closer to the crt face. could this create issues?

If you can take pictures that will help me.
But I'd say , try it and see.

here's some pics. You can see 2 in between the lens ports and one on each side. You'll see a separate pic of a side on I removed. They are just sitting there (ie. not bolts).
My guess is they are just cosmetic but I wanted to be sure.

Might they have something to do with controlling airflow?

I agree. Anyway I just mounted the lens with them on and I have no issue. I'll let layng dogs lay - especially what I went thru this weekend. I don't need to create any more problems that for sure!

Naw, there is no airflow in the front of the PJ. besides the holes in them would discount airflow control.
Those are for Xray and RF shielding.
