Have you tried to access the card through Windows Media Center?

I didn't load the ATI software...Just the drivers MCE took care of the rest.

I think I'll try to uninstall again tomorrow and see if mce will do it all instead of using the ati stuff. it looked like the drivers stayed on the machine after the uninstall

Try loading just the driver and then try out Watch HDTV. I found that to be the best option with the ATi HDTV wonder (gen 1 )

Go through all the wizzards in MCE is really kind of cool, the HD-Videos in the in setup are really sharp. If you have IR blasters it can change your cable box channels per the guide. My problem with it was there was nothing on broadcast TV I ever wanted to watch let alone record. I filled the hard drive up with progams useless to me .

Edit: Here is a link to all the MCE updates.

I had a lot of PBS slow pan through gardens stuff for demoing. That is untill they went 720P and their signal suddenly sucked azz. Thier 1080i was incredible.

The first thing I ever watched on OTA HD was PBS on a 17" CRT monitor. It was amazing.

For me it was the "The Tonight Show" on a RCA DTC-100 with 21" Computer monitor in 1999. I could not believe how good it was. I was very lucky, we had a local NBC stations that started HD around 1998 or 1999. About 1 out of 10 movies on HBO were HD in HBO's famous Crop-O-Vision.

I did see a demo at Epcott Center at Disney in 1996 that sold me. Can't be sure but I think it was playing on a Barco Projector.
