How to make your own acoustic panels (what's inside)
Title:
How to make your own acoustic panels (what's inside)
Description:
Here are the materials I used to make the acoutic panels. Differs slightly from the original instructions at http://www.avscience.com/acousticpannel.htm
1/8" hardboard used for the backing, followed by one layer of 5/8" acoustic compressed fiberglass ceiling tile, then 1.5" open cell foam (mattress underlay from Walmart), and finally speaker fabric on top.
I find the work wonderfully and widen the soundstage (especially on the right side because of the close proximity of the right speaker with the side wall).
Very cheap to build compared to store bought panels: The 8 panels used in my setup cost around $100-150US in materials.
I still need to get serious and go through the ETF software and measure my room's RT60.
