That pictures appears to be taken from very close to the screen. If you cannot see scan lines on a CRT at this distance, then you are running at a resolution beyond what it is capable of. Move back to even super close like 1x screen distance on either the DLP or the CRT and the spacing disappears because it is beyond your eye's ability to see.

Another option for SDE is to defocus. DLP has the sharpest picture (sharper than LCoS or CRT). If you are not a sharpness fanatic, you can defocus until the space between the pixels is reduced to about half. The picture is still very very sharp, but the SDE will be invisible.

Personally, I find registration errors much worse artifacts than any SDE I've ever seen on a DLP or LCoS projector.

Damn, I don't care how nice a picture that stack throws. I wouldn't invite anyone over until I did something better with that enclosure and that nasty-ass paint job. What did you do Cliff, drink a quart of black paint and piss on it Laughing
Get some vinal and tuck and roll it. Put a little table in the back with one of thos bouncy springy heads on it and hang some furry dice from the green tubes Thumbs Up

Actually, what ended up happening was paint coming off from me opening and closing the hush box. It's an easy fix. It looks much better than what the picture shows believe me.

Anywho, Arli and I never finished the hushbox and we do need to address it. It does not however take away from what you see on the screen in that room. Trust me. Very Happy

Maybe I'll be able to get to it before the next meet. Even if I don't though, I have NO problem inviting anyone over even in the current state. My room is very nice and I'm very happy with it.

The below picture is a perfect example of excellent light control around your screen area.

Cliff, if you cannot tell that the picture is of a G90 converged as good as it can get, then I have no time for your sniveling rants. you're simply jealous of what the SuperKontrast can do, far over your little G90 toy. Stop your constant drivel, it's making me ill, I have no time for you cretinous troglodytes.

Dude you crack me up.

The one thing I can say if there were to be a direct comparison to the Barco, and that is I'm willing to bet that the Barco's colors will be more accurate than mine.

Would the low contrast ratio of a projector like the Barco though be enough for me to want the more accurate colors?

Short answer: No. I'll take the kick ass contrast ratio, more film like picture, and inky blacks any day.

And Peter has found out something profound now.....his drivel continues.

Cleaning the Glass ....BIG IMPROVEMENT!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cleaned the glass and lens and the sharpness and ansi came back to the way it was on the first day. Anyone contemplating a DCI projector should paln on weekly treatments.

I have nothing against him... but I am sorry you simply cannot make the space between the mirrors small enough.
0.98 inch DLP Cinema® Chip, 2048 x 1080 Native Resolution

VS
9" CRT , 2500X2000

Its hard to compete when you are starting out with an image area that is 9x larger.

Who has data on the space between the chip in that projector vs a 9" LUG or something.

Yeah. That's a good one. Very Happy

Probably so.

I saw an ad for the lens cleaner cloth he spoke about. It was there with the "clothes hanger speaker wires, and dvd re-winder" somebody sold me on. I bought all this sh*t, and now I find out I need and ISF certified person to set them up. Embarassed

No, I was dinking around in there when you first posted this....then I checked out a few of his other threads. The guy gets super worked up about new technology. Who can blame him. He claims are pretty far fetched, but they are just claims. Someone who has no background on you would probably be thinking crazy things about you! I know you don't care, and he probably doesn't care either... 8)

I will have to look at that next time. But running a proper resolution without overscan. Looks better than what he is showing.

Cliff do an up close shot of a white screen on your g90 rig....

If you like we can dispatch a calibrator from our West Korean office to hook up your clothes hanger speaker wire and DVD rewinder.

Please to tell us, did you purchase the left hand or right handed twist clothes hangers?
