August 29, 2004 Here at last is a
new projector list of units and accessories for sale. For those of you new to
the mailing list, welcome! This is a private list not given to others. If you
want off this list, just shoot me a quick email back, and I'll take you of right
away. As always, all pricing is in US dollars.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
1) It looks like I've passed the AOL spammers notice, my Shaw account
managers are no longer harassing me. For those of you AOL customers receiving
this list for the first time, if you want to keep receiving these emails, please
shoot me back an email that has 'Keep me on the mailing list' in the title. If
you want off, just send me back a nasty email, and I'll take you off right
away..
2) A reminder that parts and modules that I send out are LOANER parts, and
unless specifically stated by myself, the defective parts that they replace must
be sent back to me. I repair the old boards and put them back into stock. As new
parts for these projectors are insanely expensive, I must get the old boards
back. I've had many people throw them out, or simply not send them back. This
reduces my loaner stock greatly, and if the trend continues, I will have to
consider simply having people send me boards for repairs. this will slow down
the turnaround. So to Rali in Seattle that has an Ampro V board and HV power
supply, and the 30 some-odd others that are hanging onto boards, c'mon guys,
please send them back!
3) Note to all that have purchased projectors from me last week. As I pack
these up outside, and it was raining all week, I could not send anything out.
The weather finally cleared, so I'll be shipping all sets out tomorrow and
Tuesday. I will be out of town from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday night, so I
should have tracking numbers for everyone before I leave. I will be sending
another projector list out next Monday at the end of the long weekend.
PROJECTORS FOR SALE:
2- Sony VPH 722. This is an older entry level video only projector in decent
shape. 500 lumens from 7" Sony tubes. Analog convergence, easy to set up,
convection cooled for zero fan noise. THe tubes are in good shape, and will last
about 8000 hours +. These sets were never driven very hard, so the tubes last
almost forever. Great as a starter unit, and this set will blow away comparably
priced digitals on ebay, or set this one up for the kids to play games on so
they don't wear out the good projector in your theater!.On eBay here:

$350.00
4-Panasonic PT-101Y projectors. Very similar to the Sony above, this set is a
bit brighter, and it has an S-video input on it. Similar analog convergence to
the Sony above. Two fans produce virtually no noise. Tubes are in good shape. On

1- Mitsubishi VS-1200 projector. Again, similar to the other video only sets
above, with an S-video input. This came from a local private installation, from
a customer that never used it. The house got sold, and we pulled it out when the
new owner bought an HD ready unit. Analog convergence, an easy set up. Bonus:
For the extra shipping costs, you can have a second parts unit at no charge. It
fires up, and works, but the tubes are shot, and the case is in bad shape. With
ceiling bracket, original Mits switcher unit as well. On eBay here:

5- Sony 10XX series. I've actually got 7 of these, I have not gone through
two of them yet. These sets are excellent beyond-starter sets The 1030 and 1031
sets are identical, 600 lumens, video and RGB inputs, 7" tubes, etc. The only
difference is that the 1030 scans to 32 Khz, good for line doubling, and the
1031 is good to 46 Khz, good for line doubling and HDTV. THe sets' condition are
all mint! No tube wear to speak of, and they throw an excellent image. The cases
are in good shape, minor scratches here and there, nothing serious. I've got
foam lined road cases that I'll send these in, but the cases will need to be
sent back.
2- Sony 1031- all tubes near mint, good for 9K hours $550.00

55 Khz, still good for HDTV and up to line triplers. THe tubes in this set are
in excellent shape, I figure you'll get 8000+ hours out of them. ACON available

ones with light blue 4:3 wear. THese are great little sets, 600 lumens from 7"

convergence. Only 10" tall make these great for low ceiling installations. Wired

2 Barco Data 800. I've got two of these workhorses again in good shape., 825
lumens from 8" Sony tubes, 58 Khz scan rate, Video, S-video and RGB inputs. On
screen menus, wireless remotes included, full modular construction for easy
servicing down the road, digital convergence, very easy to set up. Excellent
images out of both of these. The tubes are good for 7000 hours +. I've sold lots
of these with excellent results. I do about 12 component modifications to these
for long term reliability.
$800.00 each.
I've also got one Barco Data 800 that has text wear outside of the 16:9 area.
I've priced this set lower than normal due to this tube wear. Great for a
well-beyond entry level set for people on a budget. You'll get 5000 + hours out
of this set. All mods done as above, the chassis will last well past the tubes.
$500.00
1- Sony 1251 series sets. Sony's answer to the Barco 800 series, they use the
same tubes and lenses for a similarly speced picture. Modular construction, very
reliable. A bit smaller and a touch noisier than the Barcos. 650 lumens, 8"
tubes, video, S-video and RGB inputs. A second RGB card may be added as an
option, I've got lots of stock of the secondary RGB boards for these sets. THe
1251 scans to 61 Khz, and has 9 point convergence. THe tubes will last 8K hours
or so in the 1251. On eBay here:

footprint, I've replaced all tubes with VDC ones. The image is excellent. Video,
S-video, RGB and component inputs. 64 Khz scan rate make the set good for up to
line quadrupling, and all formats of HDTV. Wireless remote included. ON screen
menus, digital convergence, easy to set up.Color corrected lenses. On eBay here:

$2200.00
NEC PG series. I've got a slew of NEC PG series projectors, probably about 15
in all. These range from the original model NEC 6 and 9 PG at 800 lumens with
RGB inputs to the later and slightly improved 6 and 9 PG + models (slightly
higher scan rate) to the newest 6 and 9 Pg Xtra models that had additional focus
and astig adjustments and 1000 lumen tubes. All use the same case style, are
reliable and come with the wireless remote control. I can retube any of the sets
that I have in stock, most are showing some G and B tube wear. I've got a couple
in good original tube shape, others are unusable as is. The point convergence
board, optional on most of these adds 100 points of convergence fine tuning per
color. Here's what is ready to go now:
1 mint 9 PG- 800 lumens, RGB inputs, with optional point convergence board
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5717389381
$1600.00
2- 9 PG Xtra. Both of these have light wear on the G and B tubes, the reds
show no wear. The 9 PG Xtra has the video and S-video board installed. Both are
good for about 7000 hours ot tube life. On ebay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5717949752
$1800.00each
I've got about 6 more Xtra sets in stock. Retubed sets with new G and B tubes
and an original red with no wear will be $2400.00 for the 6 Pg Xtra, $2800.00
for the 9 PG Xtra.
8" EM focus sets. I've lumped these all together as the specs are all very
similar. I always get asked, which is the best set, a Marquee, a Barco 808 or
1208, or an NEC XG series. The answer is always the same: Put them all in a
large room fed by the same source, and you'll see little difference between the
sets. THe NEC's have a bit more control over the focus and astig than the
others, the Marquees and BArcos are a bit easier to set up. Again, I've got
multiple sets in stock of each of these. All offer 1200 lumens, somewhere
between 75-135 Khz max scan rate, good for anything you can feed to it. 8" EM
focus tubes. Video, S-video and RGB inputs on all units. Component inputs as
noted below. Zone and point convergence on all models. Here's what's ready to
go:
1- BArco Data 808. All original MEC tubes, good for 7000 hours of use. Case
in good shape. on eBay here:

$2100.00
1- BArco Data 808s. THis set uses MEC tubes, has tube that will be good in
excess of 7000 hours, and has the IRIS and component input options. 75 Khz max
scan rate. Only 2500 hours on the chassis and tubes. On eBay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5717908034
$2900.00
1- BArco Graphics 808s. Same as above but with Sony tubes, and the higher
scan rate of 110 Khz. This set does have some G and B wear, but the set will
still be good for 5000 hours + c/w IRIS autoconvergence camera and component
inputs on eBay here:

ITEMS I NEED:
As usual, I'm looking for things..
1) Runco DTV 852 chassis. It can be dead, but it needs to be mostly complete.
I've had a slew of inquiries for repairs on these sets lately, and have sold all
of my working sets.
2) Barco 70X chassis. same thing, I need more parts and test chassis.
3) Barco 1208 CRT neck boards. Looking for 5 or 6 to maintain my parts stock.
I'll be listing more accessories in subsequent lists, and will list more A/V
stuff on ebay as well, I've got to clear out a bunch of stuff here to make way
for more projectors.
