The CalMAN USB-UIRT is a device that emulates a remote control, and under
CalMAN’s control, sends your DVD player the codes that
tell it to advance to the next pattern in a sequence so you don’t have to select
the next pattern manually. Using the CalMAN USB-UIRT, you can automate a whole
calibration run with your calibration disk, the same way that someone with a
pattern generator can. Note: A USB-UIRT is included for free when you
purchase a CalMAN DPG-1200 Digital Pattern
Generator. So if you own a DPG-1200, you do not need to purchase a USB-UIRT
separately.
The CalMAN USB-UIRT comes pre-programmed to allow it to communicate with
almost all of the DVD players on the market, and also with the ability to learn
how to communicate with any DVD player it can't currently communicate with.
